CVE-2024-5789

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Triton Lite theme for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.3
Description: The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the url attribute within the theme's Button shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations: For versions up to, and including, 1.3, consider disabling the Button shortcode until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the url attribute within the Button shortcode to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script injection. Avoid using the url attribute in the affected Button shortcode until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
