CVE-2024-5964

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Zenon Lite theme for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.9
Description: The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the url parameter within the theme's Button shortcode, allowing authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations: For versions up to, and including, 1.9, consider disabling the Button shortcode until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the url parameter within the Button shortcode to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script injection. Avoid using the url parameter in the affected Button shortcode until the issue is resolved.
