CVE-2024-6168
CVSS v3.1
4.3
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
The Just Custom Fields plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.3.2
Description:
The issue is related to Cross-Site Request Forgery due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on several AJAX functions. This allows unauthenticated attackers to invoke functionality intended for admin users via a forged request, granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action. This enables subscribers to manage field groups and change visibility of items, among other things.
Recommendations:
For versions up to, and including, 3.3.2, update to a version that includes the necessary nonce validation to prevent Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the AJAX functions until a patch is available.
