CVSS v3.1
9.8
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
IQ Testimonials plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.2.7
Description:
The issue is related to insufficient file type validation in the
process image upload function, allowing unauthenticated attackers to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server. This may make remote code execution possible, but only if the gd php extension is not loaded on the server.Recommendations:
For IQ Testimonials plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.2.7: Update to a version later than 2.2.7 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
process image upload function until a patch is available. Additionally, ensure the gd php extension is loaded on the server to prevent exploitation.Fix
Unrestricted File Upload
