CVE-2024-6589

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions LearnPress – WordPress LMS Plugin versions up to, and including, 4.2.6.8.2
Description The issue allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to include and execute arbitrary files on the server via the render content block template function. This enables the execution of any PHP code in those files, potentially bypassing access controls, obtaining sensitive data, or achieving code execution, especially in cases where images and other “safe” file types can be uploaded and included.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 4.2.6.8.2, consider disabling the render content block template function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to sensitive files and directories to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid allowing the upload of files that could be used to execute PHP code.
