Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
WP MultiTasking WordPress plugin versions 0.1.12 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to the WP MultiTasking WordPress plugin not validating and escaping some of its shortcode attributes before outputting them back in a page/post where the shortcode is embedded. This could allow users with the contributor role and above to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks.
Recommendations
For WP MultiTasking WordPress plugin versions 0.1.12 and earlier, update to a version that fixes the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the use of shortcodes in the plugin until a patch is available.
Restrict access to the plugin's settings and shortcode embedding functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation.
