CVSS v2.0

9.0

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions TOTOLINK A3600R version 4.1.2cu.5182 B20201102
Description A critical issue has been found in the loginauth function of the /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi file. The manipulation of the password and http host arguments leads to a buffer overflow. This issue can be exploited remotely. The vendor was contacted about this disclosure but did not respond.
Recommendations For version 4.1.2cu.5182 B20201102, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the loginauth function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi file to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the password and http host arguments in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
