Description
A critical issue has been found in the function
loginauth of the file /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi, where the manipulation of the password argument leads to buffer overflow. The attack can be initiated remotely. The issue has been publicly disclosed and may be exploited.Recommendations
For TOTOLINK A7000R version 9.1.0u.6268 B20220504, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
loginauth function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi file to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the password argument in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.Exploit
