CVE-2024-7411
CVSS v3.1
5.3

| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Newsletters plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.9.9
Description
The issue is due to the plugin not preventing direct access to the "/vendor/mobiledetect/mobiledetectlib/export/exportToJSON.php" API endpoint. This allows unauthenticated attackers to retrieve the full path of the web application, which can be used to aid other attacks. The information displayed is not useful on its own and requires another vulnerability to be present for damage to an affected website.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 4.9.9, consider restricting access to the "/vendor/mobiledetect/mobiledetectlib/export/exportToJSON.php" API endpoint until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, disabling direct access to this endpoint can help minimize the risk of exploitation.
