Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
UltraPress theme for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.2.1
Description
The UltraPress theme for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection via deserialization of untrusted input. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject a PHP Object. No known POP chain is present in the vulnerable software. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it could allow the attacker to delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code.
Recommendations
For UltraPress theme for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.2.1, update to a patched version immediately to prevent PHP Object Injection via deserialization of untrusted input. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the deserialization functionality until a patch is available. Avoid using untrusted input in the affected theme to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
Deserialization of Untrusted Data
