CVE-2024-7624

CVSS v3.1

8.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Zephyr Project Manager plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.3.101
Description The issue is related to limited privilege escalation due to the plugin not properly checking a user's capabilities before allowing them to enable access to the plugin's settings through the update user access() function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to grant themselves full access to the plugin's settings.
Recommendations For Zephyr Project Manager plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.3.101: As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the update user access() function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the plugin's settings to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the plugin until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
