Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Responsive video plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.0
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's video settings function due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, provided that responsive videos are enabled for posts.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.0, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the video settings function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the plugin's video settings to minimize the risk of exploitation, ensuring only trusted users with appropriate permissions can access these settings.
Fix
XSS
