Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
WP Events Manager plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.1.11
Description
The WP Events Manager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to time-based SQL Injection via the
order parameter due to insufficient escaping on the user-supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.Recommendations
For WP Events Manager plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.1.11, update to a version higher than 2.1.11 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
order parameter in the affected API endpoint until a patch is available. Avoid using the order parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved.Fix
SQL injection
