CVE-2024-8120
CVSS v3.1
4.7
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:N/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
ImageRecycle pdf & image compression plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.1.14
Description:
The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on several functions in the class/class-image-otimizer.php file. This allows unauthenticated attackers to update plugin settings and perform other actions via a forged request, provided they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
Recommendations:
For versions up to, and including, 3.1.14, update to a version later than 3.1.14 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the class/class-image-otimizer.php file until a patch is available.
Avoid using the vulnerable functions in the class/class-image-otimizer.php file until the issue is resolved.
