CVE-2024-8252

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Clean Login plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.14.5
Description: The Clean Login plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Local File Inclusion via the template attribute of the clean-login-register shortcode. This allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to include and execute arbitrary files on the server, enabling the execution of any PHP code in those files. This can be used to bypass access controls, obtain sensitive data, or achieve code execution in cases where images and other “safe” file types can be uploaded and included.
Recommendations: For Clean Login plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.14.5, consider disabling the template attribute of the clean-login-register shortcode until a patch is available. Restrict access to the clean-login-register shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the template attribute in the clean-login-register shortcode until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
