Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
The Blockspare: Gutenberg Blocks & Patterns for Blogs, Magazines, Business Sites plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.2.4
Description:
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via several parameters in the
blockspare render social sharing block function due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.Recommendations:
For versions up to, and including, 3.2.4, update to a version higher than 3.2.4 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
blockspare render social sharing block function until a patch is available.
Restrict access to the Blockspare plugin to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
