CVE-2024-8442

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: The Prime Slider – Addons For Elementor plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.15.18
Description: The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's Blog widget due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations: For versions up to, and including, 3.15.18, update the plugin to the latest patched version to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Blog widget until a patch is available. Additionally, ensure that all user-supplied attributes are properly sanitized and escaped to prevent arbitrary web script injection.
