CVE-2024-8529
CVSS v3.1
10
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
LearnPress – WordPress LMS Plugin versions up to, and including, 4.2.7
Description:
The issue allows unauthenticated attackers to perform SQL Injection via the
c fields parameter of the "/wp-json/lp/v1/courses/archive-course" REST API endpoint due to insufficient escaping on the user-supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible to extract sensitive information from the database by appending additional SQL queries into already existing queries.Recommendations:
For versions up to, and including, 4.2.7, update to version 4.2.8 to fix the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the "/wp-json/lp/v1/courses/archive-course" REST API endpoint and avoid using the
c fields parameter until the issue is resolved.Exploit
