Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
The Big File Uploads – Increase Maximum File Upload Size plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.1.2
Description:
The plugin is vulnerable to Full Path Disclosure due to not sanitizing a file path in an error message. This allows authenticated attackers with author-level access and above to retrieve the full path of the web application, which can aid other attacks. The information displayed is not useful on its own and requires another vulnerability to be present for damage to an affected website.
Recommendations:
For versions up to, and including, 2.1.2, update to a version higher than 2.1.2 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the plugin until a patch is available. Restrict access to error messages that may contain the full path of the web application to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
Path traversal
