CVE-2024-8738

CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Seriously Simple Stats plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.6.0
Description: The issue arises from the use of add query arg without proper escaping on the URL, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. This can be achieved if an attacker successfully tricks a user into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.
Recommendations: For versions up to, and including, 1.6.0, update to a version higher than 1.6.0 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the add query arg function until a patch is available.
