| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Email Obfuscate Shortcode plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.0
Description:
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'email-obfuscate' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations:
For versions up to, and including, 2.0, consider disabling the 'email-obfuscate' shortcode until a patch is available to prevent exploitation.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
