Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Confetti Fall Animation plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.3.0
Description:
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting in the Confetti Fall Animation plugin for WordPress. This is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin's 'confetti-fall-animation' shortcode. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above can inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations:
For versions up to, and including, 1.3.0, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the 'confetti-fall-animation' shortcode to prevent exploitation.
Fix
XSS
