CVE-2024-9018

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: The WP Easy Gallery – WordPress Gallery Plugin versions up to, and including, 4.8.5
Description: The issue is related to time-based SQL Injection via the key parameter due to insufficient escaping on the user-supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.
Recommendations: For versions up to, and including, 4.8.5, consider disabling the key parameter until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the plugin to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the key parameter in the affected plugin until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
