Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
QS Dark Mode Plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.9
Description
The QS Dark Mode Plugin for WordPress has a Stored Cross-Site Scripting issue via SVG file uploads due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with Author-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses the SVG file.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 2.9, consider disabling SVG file uploads until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the plugin's upload functionality to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script injection. As a temporary workaround, limit user access to the affected plugin to prevent authenticated attackers from exploiting the issue.
