Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Memberful – Membership Plugin versions up to, and including, 1.73.7
Description
The issue is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin's
memberful buy subscription link and memberful podcasts link shortcodes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.73.7, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
memberful buy subscription link and memberful podcasts link shortcodes to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, limit contributor-level access and above to trusted users only.Fix
