Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Ultimate WordPress Toolkit – WP Extended plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.0.9
Description
The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link. The
wpext-export parameter is specifically vulnerable to this issue.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 3.0.9, update to a version higher than 3.0.9 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
wpext-export parameter until a patch is available.Exploit
