Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions WP Simple Anchors Links plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.0.0
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's wpanchor shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For WP Simple Anchors Links plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.0.0: As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the wpanchor shortcode until a patch is available. Restrict access to pages that use the wpanchor shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using user-supplied attributes in the wpanchor shortcode until the issue is resolved.
