Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Image Map Pro plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 6.0.20
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the
save project function, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. This is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes, making it possible for injected scripts to execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 6.0.20, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
save project function for users with contributor-level and above permissions until a patch is available.Fix
