Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
TablePress – Tables in WordPress made easy plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.4.2
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the table cell content due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers, with Author-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 2.4.2, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue to prevent Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to table cell content editing to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
