CVE-2024-9657

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Element Pack Elementor Addons plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 5.10.2
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages via the tooltip parameter. This makes it possible for malicious scripts to be injected and executed whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 5.10.2, update the plugin to the latest patched version as soon as possible to mitigate the risks. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the tooltip parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation.
