Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
MultiVendorX – The Ultimate WooCommerce Multivendor Marketplace Solution plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.2.4
Description
The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on several functions in
api/class-mvx-rest-controller.php. This allows unauthenticated attackers to update vendor account details, create vendor accounts, and delete arbitrary users via a forged request, provided they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 4.2.4, update to a version that includes the fix for the missing or incorrect nonce validation issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
api/class-mvx-rest-controller.php file until a patch is available.Fix
