Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Crypto plugin for WordPress versions up to and including 2.15
Description
The issue is related to Cross-Site Request Forgery due to missing nonce validation in the
crypto connect ajax process::check function. This allows unauthenticated attackers to log in as any existing user, including administrators, by tricking a site administrator into performing a specific action, such as clicking on a link.Recommendations
For Crypto plugin for WordPress versions up to and including 2.15, update to a version that includes nonce validation in the
crypto connect ajax process::check function to prevent Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the crypto connect ajax process::check function until a patch is available.Fix
