CVE-2024-4240

CVSS v2.0

9.0

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Tenda W9 version 1.0.0.7(4456)
Description: A critical issue affects the formQosManageDouble user function, allowing for a stack-based buffer overflow through the manipulation of the ssidIndex argument. This can be exploited remotely, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution or denial of service by sending a specially crafted POST request.
Recommendations: For Tenda W9 version 1.0.0.7(4456), as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the formQosManageDouble user function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable function to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the ssidIndex parameter in affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
