CVE-2024-32056
CVSS v3.1
7.8
High
| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Simcenter Femap versions prior to V2406
Description:
The issue is related to an out of bounds write past the end of an allocated buffer while parsing a specially crafted IGS part file. This could allow an attacker to execute code in the context of the current process. The exploitation of this issue may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code with the help of a specially crafted malicious file in IGS format.
Recommendations:
For versions prior to V2406, update to version V2406 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of specially crafted IGS part files until a patch is available. Restrict access to parsing IGS files to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
