CVE-2024-42227

CVSS v3.1

4.7

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description: The issue is related to the dml core mode programming function in the AMD Display component of the Linux kernel. It involves an overlapping copy that may lead to unexpected behavior due to memcpy being used instead of memmove. The problem arises because &mode lib->mp.Watermark and &locals->Watermark share the same address. This could potentially allow an attacker to impact the availability of protected information.
Recommendations: At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
