CVE-2024-39484

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the Linux kernel's MMC/SD driver, specifically the davinci mmcsd driver structure in the drivers/mmc/host/davinci mmc.c module. The problem arises when the remove function is used with the exit macro, causing the remove callback to be discarded when the driver is built-in and the device is unbound using sysfs or hotplug. This results in resource leaks. The fix involves compiling the remove callback unconditionally. The issue also fixes a W=1 modpost warning related to a section mismatch in the reference to davinci mmcsd remove.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
