CVE-2024-41184
CVSS v2.0
10
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
keepalived versions 2.3.1 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to an integer overflow in the vrrp ipsets handler handler of the keepalived system, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. This occurs in the fglobal parser.c file. It's noted that an empty ipset name must be configured by the user for the vulnerability to be exploitable.
Recommendations
For keepalived versions 2.3.1 and earlier, consider updating to a version where this issue is fixed, if available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the configuration of empty ipset names to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
