Description
The issue is related to a refcount leak in the
gfar get ts info function of the ethtool component in the Linux kernel. The of find compatible node() function returns a node pointer with refcount incremented, but the refcount is not released when done. This can lead to a denial of service. The estimated number of potentially affected devices worldwide is not available. There is no information about real-world incidents where this issue was exploited.Recommendations
To resolve the issue, apply the fix for the refcount leak in the
gfar get ts info function by adding the missing of node put() to release the refcount.
