Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
libvirt (affected versions not specified)
Description
A flaw was found in libvirt related to a NULL-pointer dereference. This issue occurs due to a corner case on platforms where allocating 0 bytes of memory results in a NULL pointer, leading to a crash of the virtinterfaced daemon. The problem arises from a refactor of the code fetching the list of interfaces for multiple APIs. This could allow clients connecting to the read-only socket to crash the virtinterfaced daemon.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
