Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
HDF5 Library versions 1.14.3 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to the use of an uninitialized value in the
H5A attr release table function in the H5Aint.c file of the HDF5 Library. This could potentially allow a remote attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. The exploitation of this issue may also cause a denial of service.Recommendations
For HDF5 Library versions 1.14.3 and earlier, consider disabling the
H5A attr release table() function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the H5Aint.c file to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Use of Uninitialized Resource
