Description
The issue is related to the
h5tools str sprint() function in the h5tools str.c file of the HDF5 Library, which may attempt to dereference uninitialized values. This could potentially allow an attacker to cause a denial of service. The h5tools str sprint() function is called from h5tools dump simple data in tools/lib/h5tools dump.c.Recommendations
