Description
The issue is related to an out-of-bounds write vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file. This allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the current user.
Recommendations
For versions 24.5, 23.6.8 and earlier, consider avoiding the use of AVI file parsing until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, refrain from opening suspicious or untrusted files to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
