Description
A critical vulnerability has been found in the function
setLanguageCfg of the file /www/cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi. The manipulation of the argument langType leads to a stack-based buffer overflow. This issue can be exploited remotely, potentially affecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The vendor was contacted about this disclosure but did not respond.Recommendations
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
setLanguageCfg function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the /www/cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi file to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the langType argument in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved.
