CVE-2024-8906

CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 129.0.6668.58 Microsoft Edge (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to incorrect security UI in the Downloads component, allowing a remote attacker to perform UI spoofing via a crafted HTML page if the user is convinced to engage in specific UI gestures. This can be achieved by exploiting errors in the representation of information in the user interface.
Recommendations For Google Chrome versions prior to 129.0.6668.58, update to version 129.0.6668.58 or later to resolve the issue. For Microsoft Edge, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Downloads component to minimize the risk of exploitation.
