CVE-2024-42093

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the explicit allocation of a cpumask variable on the stack in the Linux kernel, specifically in the net/dpaa2 module. This can cause a potential stack overflow when the CONFIG CPUMASK OFFSTACK=y kernel configuration is used. The kernel code should use *cpumask var API(s) to allocate the cpumask variable in a config-neutral way, leaving the allocation strategy to CONFIG CPUMASK OFFSTACK.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
