Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
D-Link DIR-605L version 2.13B01 BETA
Description
A critical issue has been identified in the
formSetPassword function of the /goform/formSetPassword file, related to a buffer overflow due to the lack of input size validation. This can be exploited by manipulating the curTime parameter, potentially allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary code. The attack can be launched remotely.Recommendations
For D-Link DIR-605L version 2.13B01 BETA, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
formSetPassword function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the /goform/formSetPassword endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the curTime parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
