Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
D-Link DIR-619L version 2.06
Description
A critical issue is found in the function
formEasySetPassword of the file /goform/formEasySetPassword, where the manipulation of the curTime argument leads to a buffer overflow. This can be exploited remotely, allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary code. The issue has been publicly disclosed and may be used for attacks.Recommendations
For D-Link DIR-619L version 2.06, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
formEasySetPassword function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the /goform/formEasySetPassword endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the curTime argument in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
