CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the function hdmi 14 process transaction() in the module drivers/gpu/drm/amd/display/dc/hdcp/hdcp msg.c of the Linux kernel's amdgpu driver. It is associated with incorrect index calculation. Exploitation of this issue may allow an attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. The problem arises because HDCP MESSAGE ID INVALID (-1) is not a valid msg id nor a valid array index, and it needs to be checked before being used. This fixes 4 OVERRUN issues reported by Coverity.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
