Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
D-Link DIR-605L version 2.13B01 BETA
Description
A critical issue has been identified in the function
formdumpeasysetup of the file /goform/formdumpeasysetup, related to a buffer overflow due to the lack of input size validation. This can be exploited by sending a specially crafted POST request with the curTime parameter, allowing a remote attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. The manipulation of the curTime argument leads to buffer overflow, and it is possible to initiate the attack remotely.Recommendations
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
formdumpeasysetup function in the /goform/formdumpeasysetup file until a patch is available. Restrict access to the /goform/formdumpeasysetup endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the curTime parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
