CVSS v2.0

9.0

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions D-Link DIR-605L version 2.13B01 BETA
Description A critical issue affects the function formSetWanPPTP of the file /goform/formSetWanPPTP. The manipulation of the argument webpage leads to buffer overflow. The attack may be initiated remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. This issue is related to the copying of a buffer without checking the size of the input data, which may allow a remote attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information by sending a specially crafted POST request with the webpage parameter.
Recommendations As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the formSetWanPPTP function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the /goform/formSetWanPPTP file to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the webpage parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
